Galatea & Moonglade Marsh Progression

Galatea is the foraging island added in the Foraging Update. You need a Minecraft 1.21.5+ client to visit. Its first zone, Moonglade Marsh, has two tree types with very different demands.

Fig Trees

The starting point on Galatea. Located in the upper Moonglade Marsh.

Chop Order (Style): Trunk → Branches
Toughness: Trunk 7, Branches 3.5
Drops: Fig Logs & Tree Gifts (when tree falls)

Goal: Aim for ~20 Sweep to clear Fig trees comfortably. Unlocks Enchanted Fig Log at tier 2 (1,000 logs).

Mangrove Trees

The high-end gear check. Located in the Murkwater Loch zone.

Chop Order (Style): Branches → Trunk → Roots
Toughness: Branches 25, Trunk 50, Roots 50
Drops: Mangrove Logs & Tree Gifts (when tree falls)

Goal: Treat 50 Sweep as the entry requirement. Check outputs in the Sweep calculator.

[!WARNING] Cutting parts out of order on Galatea applies a massive 50% Sweep penalty on your hits. Refer to the Tree Styles guide for specific rules.

The Economy Loop

The core progression cycle revolves around felling trees and upgrading your stats:

Tree Gifts: Drop when a tree is fully felled. You receive full rewards as long as you broke at least 33% of the tree.
Forest Whispers: Each Tree Gift grants loot + +100 Forest Whispers.
Heart of the Forest: Spend Whispers into HOTF perk levels to increase your Sweep and Fortune, helping you chop faster.
Daily Wishes: Your first log type chopped each day yields a massive daily bonus of +400 to +40,000 Whispers (scales with Daily Wishes perk). Never skip a day!

Collections to Watch

Fig Log and Mangrove Log are the core collections. The island also adds:

Vinesap, Lushlilac, Sea Lumies, and Tender Wood collections.
