Foraging in 2026: Where to Start
The SkyBlock 0.27 update expanded Foraging on Galatea into a deep, multi-island progression skill. Four core stats define it now:
- Sweep — how many logs you cut per chop. On old-world trees it adds +1 log per point up to 36 logs per chop. On Galatea it is scaled against tree Toughness and caps at 20 extra logs (21 total per chop) since the 2026-08-24 rework. Check your exact log yields with the Sweep Calculator.
- Timber — added in the 2026-08-24 patch. Each point provides a 1% chance to fell an entire tree on your first melee cut. Sourced from the Petalfall enchant (+0.2–1), the Timber HOTF perk (+0.1–1), and the Woodpecker Shard (Helix Timber attribute).
- Toughness — tree parts resist your Sweep. Fig trunks sit at 10, Mangrove trunks at 50, and Torrhus Canyon Helix Trees demand 150.
- Foraging Fortune — multiplies log drops (100 Fortune = double drops). Your player level alone provides +4 Fortune per level, reaching up to +228 Fortune at the level cap of Foraging 57.
[!NOTE] Hunter Fortune & Shards: Hunting in the Critter Safari uses Hunter Fortune (pink
§dstat), which increases attribute shard drop rates and quantity.
Progression Roadmap
- Start in The Park: Reach Foraging Level 5 to unlock access to Galatea.
- Moonglade Marsh (Fig Trees): Connect with a Minecraft 1.21.5+ client, start felling Fig Trees (Toughness 10), and collect Fig Tree Gifts to earn Forest Whispers.
- Heart of the Forest (HOTF Tier 8): Unlock your tree. Level 1 of every unlocked perk is completely FREE! Use the Heart of the Forest Tree & Planner on your profile to optimize whisper allocation.
